Colonial Shutters are available in both decorative and impact versions and provide a handsome, fold-back option that enhances a home’s architectural design. Colonial shutters close in front of the window opening and are secured with locking bars that add strength and security to the residential or commercial building. Shutters manufactured with our patented integral backing blade provide wind and impact protection. The integral backing blades can be manufactured with an optional see through punching that allows light to pass through and provides limited visibility. Decorative Colonial shutters, when closed, provide a measure of security to the opening but do not deliver wind or impact protection.
Bahama Shutters are mounted over the window opening with a continuous hinge and adjustable side arms that telescope to form a sunshade or louvered awning. It is also common to install fixed arm Bahama Shutters over window openings in commercial buildings that function as a decorative element and sunshade. Bahama Shutters manufactured using our patented integral blade backing provide wind and impact protection when secured at the sides and bottom. Decorative Bahama Shutters protect interiors from sunlight and can keep buildings cooler.
